Day of Serving

ELCA members are being called to put their faith in action by engaging in service activities in their local areas. The idea is to deepen congregations’ experiences in their communities and play a critical part in addressing needs.

Prince of Peace will be participating in the church wide Day of Serving by volunteering at Feed My Starving Children on Wednesday, September 5 from 5:45 to 7:30 pm. We will be going to the Schaumburg facility of Feed My Starving Children, located at 1072 National Parkway, to pack food. Anyone aged 5 years and older is invited to attend.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that sends packages of meals to the hungry in other nations. Volunteers combine and assemble the ingredients in packages which are then shipped to feed the hungry. Visit fmsc.org to learn about this ministry.

To register for this event, click here to contact Karen Wagner or sign up on the sheets at the entrance desks or at the Mission Fair Discipleship table on August 19.

We have reserved 80 spots to pack food, so please sign up now. You can invite family and friends to come along. No open-toed shoes are allowed, and no jewelry should be worn. Contact Karen Wagner if you have questions.
