This year our Lenten study is called Anxious for Nothing based on a book by Max Lucado. We will gather on Zoom on Wednesday evenings, February 24 to March 24, from 6:45 to 7:30.
Do you feel weighed down with worry? Could you use some calm? This book, published in 2017, was written for this time and this place. It is full of scripture, with words of comfort and calm. Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing”, is the basis for the book. According to the promise in Philippians, anxiety comes with life, but it doesn’t have to dominate your life. Through this study, we will invite God to reframe the way we face our fears and win the war on worry. We will be “anxious for nothing” and experience the “peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.”
Pastor Peter Hellstedt and Karen Wagner will be leading discussion on each evenings’ readings from the book which is available on Amazon.com at a reasonable price. Click here for link.
We look forward to returning to some of the traditions of Lent in 2021. We can’t have a dessert competition, but we can still gather (virtually) with our friends.
